The workshop has been approved for 13 CEs through Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES). There is a $25 additional charge for this payable at the workshop. Target audience: This workshop is appropriate for mental health professionals, psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses and other professionals working with either individuals or couples. The workshop is a beginning level exploration of adult attachment.
Course Description: This workshop teaches the latest in attachment science and how these new understandings can change relationships. Participants work through a minimum of five “conversations” from Dr. Sue Johnson’s book Hold Me Tight to experience how clarifying and expressing the underlying attachment needs and fears can shift relationships.

- Gain an overview of the scientific understanding of romantic love as developed in the last twenty years
- Describe attachment needs in adult relationships
- Describe primal panic and how it impacts relationships
- Identify the three negative dance patterns that Dr. Johnson’s approach delineates
- Describe aspects of A.R.E. (Accessible, Responsive, Engaged) conversations and why they are important
- Name three things partners can do to interrupt negative interaction patterns
