Hold Me Tight 2.0: For Couples Who Have Completed a Hold Me Tight Workshop
The Hold Me Tight 2.0 Retreat will provide the opportunity and support for each couple to engage in conversations that deepen their connection and understanding of each other. It is our intention that these conversations will lead to change on a practical level, helping couples to shape, day by day, a secure, reliable and loving bond.
    ___________________________________________________
Conversations will be customized so that couples can work at the level that is appropriate for them. If a couple is still working to de-escalate their cycle, the work will focus there. For those that have already de-escalated, the exercises will support the bonding conversations that make for long lasting secure connection.

We will request information from each couple prior to the workshop so that we can adjust the curriculum according to how couples are doing since their first HMT. In addition, one homework assignment will need to be completed by each participant prior to the start of the workshop. This homework will be used as the foundation of the first partner exercise.

Note: To participate in this Hold Me Tight 2.0 Retreat, couples must have completed a Hold Me Tight Workshop with Hold Me Tight Asheville or any other Hold Me Tight facilitator.

Schedule
Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Optional social at Elli and David's cottage home rental at Highland Lake, on Friday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

Location
This workshop will be held at the Sanctuary in the Pines in Flat Rock, NC. The Sanctuary is a 1,200 square foot timber-framed meeting space with cathedral ceiling, Palladian windows and a wrap-around porch. Nestled in a woodland area of Highland Lake, it's located just minutes from the lovely town of Hendersonville, NC and 35 minutes from Asheville. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Sanctuary provides a spacious and nourishing setting for a workshop. The surrounding acreage includes a boat dock, swimming, walking trails, and a pasture with goats, sheep and a peacock.

Lodging Options
There are several great lodging options on-site and close to the workshop location. Lodging on site is not required.

Highland Lake Properties offers private cottage homes for rent for a minimum of two nights. Rent three nights or more and receive a 10% discount by referencing Hold Me Tight. Cottage home rentals start as low as $130 per night plus taxes/fees when you stay 3 nights. The Garden Hamlet Cottages are located right near the Sanctuary while the two Waterfront Cottages are about a ten minute walk. THE NUMBER OF COTTAGES AVAILABLE IN AUGUST IS QUITE LIMITED. RESERVE SOON. Note that reservations are handled by Steve Collins of Highland Lake Properties. Steve also manages the properties so allow up to 24 hours to hear back from him regarding a new reservation or other questions. We have stayed at several of the cottage homes during workshops at the Sanctuary over the past 6 years and can highly recommend a stay at any of the Highland Lake cottage homes. They include full kitchens and 1 - 3 bedrooms.

Highland Lake Inn & Resort has inn rooms as well as small cabin rooms available for a minimum two night rental with rates ranging from $159 - $279 plus taxes/fees per night including breakfast at the Inn. They offer a 10% discount for AAA and AARP. The Inn and cottages are less than a ten minute walk from the workshop. We have not stayed at the Inn but reviews are positive.

EFT Sessions Offered
We will be recruiting EFT therapists from around the region to support us during the HMT 2.0 Retreat. It is our hope that these experienced EFT therapists will make time available outside of workshop hours to offer EFT sessions to participant couples. Couples can use these sessions to get support with understanding their cycle better, getting past a stuck place, deepening their emotional risk taking, learning how to listen to their partner better or addressing attachment injuries. Additional fees will apply and will be paid directly to the session provider. More information about these sessions, including cost and sign-up information, will be made available to workshop participants.

Food/Beverages/Catered Lunches
Snacks will be provided
Hot tea and spring water will be available (no coffee provided)
Lunch on Saturday will be 1.5 hours and on your own
Lunch on Sunday will be 1.25 hours and on your own

We will be offering an optional catered lunch on site both Saturday and Sunday.

Group Size
Group size is limited to 25 couples. Presentation and videos occur in group format but couples work on exercises with more privacy. This workshop will include some group discussion but, as always, speaking in the group is absolutely not required.

Continuing Education Units
We are applying for CEUs for this workshop through Commonwealth Educational Seminars and expect approval for 11 hours. There is a $25 additional charge for this payable at the workshop. Approval is through American Psychological Association (APA) or Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). Indicate intent to purchase CEU's when completing the registration form after payment. Note that both LPCs and nurses in NC can use APA credits though only 15 hours of APA credit can apply for LPCs. Please consult with your licensing board regulations and contact us with any questions.

Cancellation Policy
If a cancellation request is received, a refund will be given (less a $100 administrative fee) up to 21 days prior to the workshop. If a cancellation is requested between 21 and 14 days prior to the workshop, 50% of the fee will be refunded. No refund will be given for cancellations less than 14 days prior to the workshop or for "no shows".
