For Therapists and Their Partners
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT through October 4th
Workshop Details
Therapists and Their Partners The intention of this workshop is to create a safe place for therapists to work with their partners to build deeper, more secure and more supportive relationships. It can be particularly hard for therapist couples to reach out for support because of the implication that as therapists, we should know what we are doing. Join us (a partnership of a therapist and a doctor) to explore the ways you do have it together and the ways you can improve. Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy is empirically validated in over 17 clinical studies. This workshop is based on that model and was developed by Dr. Johnson. Other professions that struggle with the same pressure and need for privacy are also welcome. This may include physicians, clergy and others. Please contact us to discuss whether your attendance at this workshop fits the intention if you are other than a psychotherapist, physician or clergy. Though we can not guarantee confidentiality of attendance by other participants, we will ask all participants to honor that request.
Schedule Saturday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Sunday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Location This workshop will be held in our home on the east side of Asheville, NC less then two miles from the VA hospital and six miles from downtown. You can map the VA at 1100 Tunnel Road to get a reference. We have beautiful mountain views and are a 15 minute walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Presentations are given in a large room seated classroom style. During breakout exercises, couples spread out around the land and home for more privacy.
Group Size Group size is limited to 10 couples. Presentation and videos occur in group format but couples work on exercises with more privacy. This is not a group process workshop and speaking in the group is absolutely not required. Privacy is respected at all times.
